Intrepid is a design-build provider of code-required two-way communication systems for critical life safety locations within a facility. These systems ensure occupants can communicate with a staffed response location during an emergency and are required by both the California Building Code (CBC) and NFPA standards.

Code-Required Locations Include:

• Elevator landings or elevator banks on accessible floors above or below the level of exit discharge (CBC 1009.8)

• Locked stairwells, with communication at not less than every fifth floor (CBC 403.5.3.1)

• Areas of refuge requiring two-way communication (CBC 1009.6.5, 1009.8.1, 1009.8.2)

• Locked elevator lobbies communicating to a 24-hour staffed onsite location (CBC 1010.1.9.12)

• Installation requirements governed by NFPA 72 Chapter 24.10
